EUROPEAN PRECISION PARTS · DRAWING-BASED SOURCING
Source custom free-cutting steel turned parts for drawing-based industrial components. CNCsupplier coordinates material, machining, secondary treatment and inspection requirements through a European manufacturing route matched to your part.

Free-cutting steel, free-machining steel and automatic steel
Buyers may use several terms for steels selected for machinability in turned components. These terms do not identify one interchangeable material. Use the actual grade, material standard and delivery condition in the Request for Quotation (RFQ). If the drawing uses an older designation, provide the specification or an approved material equivalence.
Define the part beyond its turned diameter
Pins, spacers, sleeves and similar rotational components can require bores, shoulders, grooves or threads in addition to the main profile. These are application examples to review against your drawing. Define mating dimensions, edge conditions and the features that must be checked before a batch can be released.
Plan heat treatment and coatings together
Where required, include hardening or case-treatment specifications, target properties and the dimensions to be checked afterward. Surface treatments such as zinc or nickel plating require an agreed coating specification. Thread fit, masking and functional surfaces should be considered in the finished condition rather than left to a general note.
A repeatable specification for repeat orders
For production sourcing, state batch quantities and expected annual usage. Identify whether the first batch requires additional approval documents and what must accompany subsequent deliveries. Keeping drawing revisions, material requirements and inspection criteria aligned helps avoid misunderstandings when the same part is reordered.
How does this differ from tool steel machining?
Do not replace a specified tool steel with a free-cutting grade purely for easier machining. The material requirement follows the component’s function, service conditions and required properties. If you want an alternative reviewed, request a documented proposal and retain the agreed approval step before manufacture.
Send your free-machining steel component RFQ
Provide the drawing, material grade, quantities, required treatments, critical dimensions and delivery date. Include any material certificate or inspection-report requirements. The quotation confirms the proposed manufacturing route, documentation and lead time for your component.
