Drawing-based brass components

Your component may combine a turned outside profile with internal bores, threads, grooves or machined faces. For a fitting or valve part, identify the functional sealing surfaces and mating geometry. For an electrical component, include the contact requirements and any plating specification. These details help distinguish a workable quotation from a price based only on overall dimensions.

Lead-free brass and grade selection

Where lead content is restricted, name the exact alloy and the applicable material requirements. “Lead-free brass” alone does not define the complete purchase specification. Include the destination market and intended application, particularly for parts in contact with drinking water. Material suitability and any required product approvals must be checked for that application.

Threads, sealing faces and finishing

Specify the thread standard, size, pitch, tolerance and gauging requirements. Identify which surfaces provide the seal and which serve only for assembly. Nickel plating, chrome plating or polishing can be considered during sourcing, subject to the drawing and supplier capability review. Define masking, coating thickness and the acceptance dimensions after finishing.

Samples and production batches

For a new brass turned component, a sample order can support fit and functional checks before repeat production is released. State the sample quantity, expected annual demand and normal delivery batch. Identify the dimensional report and material documentation needed for approval. The agreed inspection scope should follow the critical features of the part.

Request a quote for custom brass turned parts

Send a dimensioned drawing, Computer-Aided Design (CAD) model if available, exact alloy, quantities and target date. Include surface finish, edge conditions, cleaning and packaging requirements. CNCsupplier coordinates the commercial and technical review; feasibility, finishing, inspection and delivery are confirmed in the quotation.

Can a standard brass fitting be used instead?

If a catalog fitting already meets the complete specification, a custom turned part may be unnecessary. Drawing-based sourcing is relevant when interfaces, dimensions, material or assembly requirements call for a specific component. Include the existing part reference where it helps explain the required function.

Custom brass fittings and small turned components

For custom brass fittings, define the thread standard, sealing geometry, medium and material restrictions. Small precision turned parts may also need controlled burr removal and protection of finished surfaces. See brass CNC machining for material considerations and pump and valve components for related fluid-system applications.
